Megan Maclaine/60-Minute Coaching Call

1:1 Coaching

What story question is driving you crazy right now?

You know, the one where if you could just figure that piece out, you'd be able to enjoy writing again. You'd understand what to do next with your story. You'd be able to finish your dang book already!

That's what we work through 1:1

So you can get back to being confident about your story, where it's going, and how to get there.

Here's how it works:

  • You book a call

  • I email you with questions to get to know you and your story

  • We meet for an hour on Zoom

  • You stop circling the same questions and get clear options for how to move forward

  • I send you our call recording and next steps to take for your story

*Please note - you must be over 18 to book a coaching call

get SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS like:

  • whether your idea will work for a novel and how to flesh it out more before you write

  • what to do first when you start outlining

  • what kind of change your main character actually needs to go through and how your plot can reflect it

  • pinpointing gaps in your outline and how to fill them

  • why the middle of your story is a huge question mark

what my writers say:

Chris M.

"After just our first conversation, I became a motivated novice writer with direction! Her patience and, in my case, empathy, are a gift, and I couldn’t recommend working with Megan more strongly."

Tori W.

"Megan is an incredible person as well as a fantastic teacher. I had a 1:1 session with her, and I was blown away by both her sincerity and professionalism. I have so much respect for Megan, both as a writer and for what she does for the writing community as a whole."

Aaron F.

"There's just no value equal to what a solid hour conversation with a great writing coach can do for not only your confidence but ultimately your story. Megan's encouraging, she's insightful, she's going to be your partner to help you get the information you need to move on in your journey."

Zeke W.

"I appreciated Megan's professionalism as a coach, her encouragement, and her ability to actually understand what another author is wanting to do and help them realize it.

There's no substitute for being able to discuss ideas openly with someone who actually understands what you're trying to do with them."

Scott J.

"You've had a good influence on a diehard pantser. It's been hard to weave all the strings together into something coherent, but our call helped me see both the bigger picture and the through-line that keeps the story moving toward a strong ending.

Your creativity in helping me settle my (many!) ideas and focus them around a working premise was super valuable."

Ashley P.

Marcella S.

Grant J.

"It seems so obvious in hindsight, but the power of having support in this creative journey is insanely underrated.

Megan takes her time to understand her client's projects and ensures she is meeting them where they are at and then pushing them past their own boundaries from that point.

Her ability to help me feel comfortable and confident in my own work and abilities is crazy impressive."

Rebecca R.

"It was really touching and reassuring to have someone speak about my story ideas with such positivity and sensitivity - it was really clear that Megan took the time to read my pre-meeting questionnaire and hopped on board with it!

I had some ideas for plot points, but they didn't really make sense as a story, and instead of seeing the problems, Megan was able to see the bits that were good and build and rearrange them in a way that made me see my own story more clearly."
